Nature Nurture - http://naturenurture.org.uk/

Nature Nurture is the first early intervention programme in the UK that tackles vulnerability and promotes resilience by combining free play and nurturing interactions in natural environments.
Nature Nurture runs programmes for groups of 10 children or young people, comprising 20 sessions. Weekly term time sessions are half day, whilst in school holidays there are whole day sessions for five consecutive days. Sessions take place outdoors in natural environments where children and young people can play, challenge themselves, socialise, explore and create freely with the attuned support of specially trained staff.

Sharing Nature - http://www.sharingnature.com/index.php

When Joseph Cornell’s first book, Sharing Nature with Children was published in 1979, it was greeted with universal acclaim. Renowned conservationist Sir Peter Scott said, “I found Sharing Nature with Children a most original and imaginative concept in a field which is vital for the welfare of the planet.” J. Baldwin, editor of Whole Earth Review, wrote, “This is absolutely the best awareness-of-nature book I’ve ever seen. Sharing Nature with Children has become justly famous because it works.”

NEEF’s Children and Nature Initiative addresses two important issues—preventing serious health conditions like obesity and diabetes and connecting children to nature. Research indicates that unstructured outdoor activities may improve children’s health by increasing physical activity, reducing stress, and serving as a support mechanism for attention disorders. The Children and Nature Initiative educates pediatric health care providers about prescribing outdoor activities to children. The program also connects health care providers with local nature sites, so that they can refer families to safe and easily accessible outdoor areas.
